Mirror server, don't cap levels

Post by MadMikael »

Ok, there are rumors going around about a level cap... I don't think its true, or a good idea. Bought levels bring money in which keeps game going.

In response to this, I propose the idea of a mirror server or world, where no buys are allowed. This would also be more interesting if eventually some sort of player ranking is implemented. Post your thoughts please.

I love the idea of this and yes i also agree a lvl buying cap would not be good, but instead a totally different server for players who want to earn rank through hard work.

With this mirror server on homepage have a "top scores list" including maybe the biggest xp currently earned, highest level, most items crafted, most PvP kills and least deaths the PvP ranking would be difficult seeing many people can multi log and just kill their alts repeatedly so perhaps the PvP ranking needs some thinking out, like an arena in which you can bet against each other need a certain level, perhaps certain class vs class for even pvp and if possible have an I.P blocker where two people from the same IP can't fight against each other? Not sure exactly how to figure that one out :(

I think the level purchased "mirrored" map would be awfully empty... tbh, I think it would further discourage buying levels. as it is now, you can buy some levels to keep up with players who invest more time, or even surpass them (though you know you won't be one of the top few players without buying a LOT) ... with the mirror, you would buy some levels only to separate yourself from all the players with whom you're trying to keep up (or surpass) by buying the levels in the first place.. it'd be great for the "no buy mirror" but overall would , I think, significantly reduce gameplay for those buying levels

I think creating a mirror server would only cost the creator more money to pay for hosting.
If there was no level purchasing, it kind of defeats the cause, the creator would have to strictly rely on revenue from the original server. It seems like an interesting idea, but I don't think it's feasible.

When you guys put it that way, it doesn't seem viable. I thought the ranking idea would have been nice though.
