So. Outlaw as i understand it to be is a feature of the game a player can partake in. This involves murdering a series of nonclanned characters (innocents i assume).
This earns you a black name and one full werk of getting smashed by anyone higher than you. Or mercilessly stomping down on the small mobs of lower level characters that band together to try kill you.
What a great feature. Not only does it automatically tell people your a murderer but it allows you to receive whats eventually coming to you. One hell of a fight and eventually death after your psychotic rampage.
Only the smarter outlaws survive without being killed and the smarter ones manage to escape the spawn map to other areas without being stalked.
...... A few issues though and this also goes into pvp mechanics. You can be defending yourself against a non outlaw who you know 100% will kill you if you dont kill him. Suddenly you yourself are an outlaw.
Is it possible to run a script for pvp between players characters to identify who attacked first? Then if the attacker kills, put him a step closer to being an outlaw?
While for the defender the script leaves them as since they didnt instigate it? People also declan in battle too. Making their killer an outlaw. With the same script could it check if theyve been within a clan within the past X seconds of being engaged in battle?
This could stop declanners from suddenly turning the server onto their enemy. Some call it a tactic. Id call it mechanics abuse.
Outlaws usually get targeted a lot. By attack-loggers. Heck a lot of people get targeted by them. Its frustrating. If someone targets you you can tatget them. Half the time you dont notice because they havent attacked.
When they attack they run and lig. Then log back in. The player being able to do nothing now. Is it possible to impliment somethibg that allows the person to be targetable by that player for 30 minutes or until next death?
Sorry veered off topic a bit but i felt it needed to be said. Back to outlaws specifically. Allow them to possibly redeem themselves. Perhaps they have to kill 2x the amoubt of innocents they killed to redeem?
The outlaw being a great feature imo. Embrace it. Some noteable people are outlaws. So why complain when they murder you and your smart mouth? Shouldve known. Their an outlaw. This is what they do. Tread wearily around them if their your level. They might go after you.
I think because of expressed views by many people on outlaws, how some mods oppose outlaws when playing characters and the killerbunny acc its more like an "eww gross your one of those. You murder characters. Etc" ... So do clanned people. They kill a lot.
View it for what it is. A feature of the game. Tweak it a bit. So the system differentiates between attavkers/defendets/quick-declanners and itl be even better.

Really appreciate the post. Most of the ideas were here before, but you added some new spins on it that I find interesting.
