high-level monsters have high DEX, which makes them cannon fodder for mages and a hard target for other classes. Or at least it requires a stat reset, and some basic level to be able to do that at all, e.g. my mage lvl100 can handle 3 blitzbees, while my archer lvl150 might die, trying his luck in criticals, because he can not have DEX 506 :D

what i'd like to see is a monster, which will be a very high challenge to mages and moderate fight to other classes.
it may require combining large spawn number, narrow corridors and high HP, while having low DEX - so that the hunter becomes prey and has no other way, but to fight his/her way out (except logging off, of course :) )
OR
creator might just add a 'magic resistance' property to monsters and create one with MR 90% :)

and another one with a negative MR, to increase mage grind speed, to balance it with archers' fire arrow or dwarfs' multi-attack tricks. with high STR, of course, so that it would be needed to have some protection for this kind of sped-up grindidng. (and, probably, later in the game, after the classes are more balanced)

agree.

but i never understood why a mage doesnt need dex to hit.
now almost all go all manna. hit 100%, ,7times a second and heal.
if they need dex to hit they would not always get the drops but still most because of attack rate. they also wiuld have more hp and be harder to hit.
and maybe they woukdnt always kill higher lv archwrs and melees inpvp if theyhave high dex (but therefore hit the higher hp mage less hard becauae of lower str)

I agree also - I've was pushing for "dex reducing can damage from spell in pvm like it does in pvp, but lost lol ;) ... anyway, without adding a new mechanic like you suggested, it is very difficult... the high level monsters from the last update was the best I could do (medium hp, higher dex than normal mage build, very high damage output)

well, look at this example:
high HP, low-ish DEX, medium damage, say ~400. BUT: spawn point is in the middle od the corridor, and it spawns ... 10 monsters at once, and there is nowhere to run.
this way it's a good assault on mage's low dex+arm, and, subsequently, hp, while archers and melee types will have that STR covered with ARM and be able to deal with them one by one.
i said str 400 - for ~lvl150. for them to be a hassle to a mage this lvl, they have to have a nice combined HP, and even enough hp ti withstand an attacks from yellow flow.
for overgrown chars, i guess, a top level restriction could be introduced to enter such a place.
