why cant i set a avatar on forum

Ive tried over and over to set a avatar one red message says pic is to many kb's and if i crop it to under 80 kb a new message says has to be more then 20 pixels wide and 20 pixels long but less tjan 120 × 120 crop it again to 98 × 67 and same message pops up saying my avatar image is 0 × 0 starting to get frustraited any help is much apreciated
