Spell power counting
With armor spell I found something where I am a bit confused.
There is written that power should be 2 + 0.1*mana. That formula is no problem.
My white mage has basic mana 30 - and increased mana 88.
I found that armor spell increases armor of 5. It means counting 2 + 0.1*30 = 5
But I thought that there should be used total mana, that would mean counting 2 + 0.1*88 = 11
If the first counting is really used, any additional increasing of mana (via equipment) loses any sense.
Or am I wrong?

Hi. You are 50% right. In formulas, only basic mana is used. But with mana from gear you can flow more spells
For example manacost of green spell is 5. With your 88 full mana you can flow 17+ spells

also, mana regeneration rate is calculated with total mana (including gear) ... or at least it once was

Thanks, both, for explanation.
But still I think that power of spell could be counted from increased mana, not basic.

If it would be so, mage would be even more overpoweredVMacurek wrote:Thanks, both, for explanation.

Re: Spell power counting
I don't think so - that mage would be overpowered in off-line FT, if spells power would be counted from increased mana.
Other members often kill enemies faster than magic, because effect of mag ic is very negligible. And mage needs armor and dexterity too.
To mage would be overpowered in case of counting of spell power based on increased mana, he should be independent in fight, like other members - and he is not.

Re: Spell power counting
the formulae I'm recommending for mages include mana from gear (while reducing basic multiplier) this would do a few things:
1> help low level mages
2> bring high level mages a bit more in line with other classes (I'm also suggesting boosts for them to hopefully find balance)
3> give some value to mage gear, since it is now virtually worthless
4> put mages on even ground with others in having to fear dropping items (again, more balance)
here's hoping

I'm pretty sure he was referring to offline mage.. Aside from healing, mage is kinda useless in offline game.

yeah, it's an offline post, but if one changes I'm sure both will
.... at any rate, mage still deals the most damage
