princess/ cook quest

hello i can not go forward because i need to do the princess quest for getting the cook quest open however awile back i have failed the princess quest and now i can see the princess but i cant talk to her is there a way to do it or do i have to restart from the beginning ?

This quest was made like so to avoid using the princess as a free repeatable follower for an extra backpack.
Don't worry about the quests story line though,the quest is finished even if the princess died,but simply you don't get the reward for it.
Reward was 200 gold and 500 xp

got it but so why i cna not talk to the cook?
