help I messed up quest

So I just started the game and the first quest where the guy gives you a book to give to beekeeper I messed up.

I didn't take the book and now I can't do the quest what do I do?

Ask gandalf to give you the book or ask him to restart the quest

I was told by someone I would have to make a new account that I couldn't get the book.
