The Race is ON!

A couple years ago, I held races where the winner would win a prize. I believe the winner won a level, and the second place won an item. It was fun for some, and I think I will try it again. There will be a few rules:

1. Outlaws, of course, are not invited to any of my events.

2. We will meet at a specific location, where I will give a "clue" as to the destination. I will not say specifically where to go, but will give sort of a riddle. After I give the riddle, players should head out as quickly as possible to the place they think is the destination. The first one there wins.

3. I will take a screenshot just before saying the clue. ONLY those players that appear in the screenshot are eligible to win. I will give notice that I am taking the picture, and ask that everyone space out just a bit so the picture captures all the players' names. If the winner's name is not legible in the screenshot, they will be disqualified.

4. Once players leave, I will go to the destination and wait. The first person to arrive at the location AND STAND NEXT TO ME wins. Simply arriving in the general location does not mean you finished the race. The race is not over until you "touch" (stand next to) me.

5. There are no rules along the way. I will not turn off PvP except on the start map and finish map. The road along the way could be treacherous

6. Once the race is over, we will return to the start map for another clue and the race will begin again :0

I love it when you bring back the races, that means tonight i can participate maybe

Problems with that is, melee has advantages like speed pots and knives, how's Archer or mage will compete, spec attacks are reset when entering dungeons or maps. Mages have slow attack but Archer screwd. Duble time.

Yes I remember that race Jim mage was in first place and I was in second on Patrick

I forgot about the speed skill for the dwarf, speed pots, etc. That could very well make us change the format of the race. If the rabbit gets there first and finds that he did not go to the correct place, he still doesn't win. Meanwhile, the slow moving mage used his intelligence to get to the correct spot first.

We might fail at this, but it promises to be interesting. I will randomly begin races on archer field so peak in there from time to time

Good race Hobbs I didn't plan on playing but one of the riddles intrigue me

The easy riddles proved that the speed abilities of some classes can be a big advantage. However, some of the races required more than just speed - you need a strategy in the route, and some riddles took players a good while to figure out. Then there was the 4th race where no one figured it out so no one won. There goes the idea that only the speedsters will win every race.

Stay tuned. We only had 4 races, and there should be many more. Most will not be planned too far in advance, but instead will be spontaneous. I will start almost every race from the archer field (map 3.1). I will turn PvP off on the start map, and will add a portal at the finish line that will send you back to the start so we can have another race.

Thanks for the races so far Hobbs. Archers took one race so I dont think speed is a problem. Seems to be a fair race as far as I can see.
