How to cut down trees for wood

I just started and wanted to know how to cut the trees down. I have seen players do it but I don't know how.

You must first buy a wood axe at the shop by the blacksmith (map 1.-1). Once you have it, you stand next to a tree and click your attack icon. That's all you have to do. You will chop very slowly at first, but if you look at your trade/skills, you will notice that the more you chop, the more points you get. Soon, your chopping skill will increase and you will chop faster.
