Lost XP?

I was just killing dragons in the online game and suddenly it logged me out. When I logged back in I was in a different position on the map and short 100-200k XP. Does this happen often? I mean I can make up the XP this time because it is a small amount. But that is kind of discouraging. I don't want to play for hours one day and then have it all for nothing because of a glitch.

Had this happen to me once, lost a level but a mod helped me out about it. Its an extremely rare system glitch.

Often? No.
Happy to say I mayself have never run into this problem.
Normally a loss in Experience points is due to the death of the character, or stat reset.

Its likely you may have had chance encounter with some server maintenance in the map coordinates you were in. That mixed with lag can cause some delays, or reversions. Exp for one of two recent kills may be lost.
But I'm not sure what the protocols for maintenance are. So I'm just speculating at this point.

It does happen from time to time that data becomes corrupt for some reason or another. On the rare instance that it has happened with FT, instead of losing the accounts, accounts are restored to the latest possible time when the account was good. I know this has happened once or twice, and some players may have lost a couple hours of work. Most players would miss it completely since they were offline during that time.

Thanks. It took me by surprise. It's like a roll back I guess. I only lost a few minutes of work thankfully. Is there a schedule of maintenance that I should be aware of when i might want to be careful not to do anything that could be lost?

There is a server restart set once daily. You should not lose anything you have gained, though if you are in the process of killing/completing something, you might lose that moment/progress just as if you logged off during that time.
