Attack Spells

Post by Humble_M »

Weapons, armor, hats, wands, etc. all have advanced level options. Yet, mages can only attack using either yellow (starter) or green (lvl 10) spells.

I'd like to see additional attack spells (L50? L150?). How about this:

Color: TBD
Level: 50
Damage: (3.5*mana) + 50
Target: Damage divided among all targets
Location: Chest or Purchasable

Color: TBD
Level: 150
Damage: (5.0*mana) + 50
Target: Damage divided among all targets
Location: Quest

Only if the spells have a built in max level. The pay-to-win high level players already kill low level clan members in one hit. This would make things even worse. I play a mage as a main, but this worries even me.

Or keep the mana multiplier the same (2.5) but increase the plus factor, i.e. instead of making it +50, make it +level, with a maximum plus (e.g. +500 max)

Nice to now others basically agree that additional attack spells are needed.

How how this:

L50 spell: same multiplier (2.5) but change plus factor to 75.

L150 spell: use Arashiko's idea, but plus factor is 125 or level (whichever is higher), max of 500

This could work, with a few minor tweaks:

Level 50 spell: (2.5*mana) + 75, no max
Mana Cost: 6

Level 150 spell: (2.5*mana) + level <= 250
Mana Cost: 7

I should mention that there is currently no max on either yellow or green spells (as far as I know).

I'm gonna do a base lvl of 250 and for simplicity just doing 500 mana from it (2 points per level)

Current green flow is 5 mana cost.

50 + (2.5*500) = 1300 dmg per cast. This comes to 260 dmg per mana point simplified (1300/5)

With 500 mana, this is 130,000 dmg total (500 mana, 5 per cast, 100 casts at 1300 ea)

Lvl 50 spell is 6 mana cost.

75 + (2.5*500) = 1325 dmg per cast. This comes to 220.8 dmg per mana point simplified (1325/6)

With 500 mana, this is 109,975 dmg total (500 mana, 6 per cast rounded down to 83 casts at 1325 ea)

Lvl 150 spell is 7 mana cost.

250 + (2.5*500) = 1500 dmg per cast. This comes to 214.3 dmg per mana point simplified (1500/7)

With 500 mana, this is 106,500 dmg total (500 mana, 7 per cast rounded down to 71 casts at 1500 ea)

Modified for 500 limit, comes to 1750 per cast, 250 per mana point simplified.

With 500 mana, this is 124,250 total dmg.

If mana wasn't basically unlimited at higher levels, it might not be a bad idea. More damage faster, but less efficient and lower damage overall.

With unlimited mana, all you're doing is just giving high lvl mages more damage which they don't really need.

Just something to ponder.

Side note, archer 3rd skill is blocked for a whole minute by a single potion. 30s during skill (only activates 1 time per enemy, then cooldown)

I want archer-only potion that blocks all slow/freeze/stun for a minute per dose, also removing a skill from each other classes as compensation

Maybe some of these new spells could be used on non-players only. High level mages already destroy me in a few hits.

Did someone already say this?
Arkadias: Level 85 Mage
Roran: Level 266 Dwarf (MAIN)
