Clan or No Clan, How about a 3rd option

Post by Bloblin »

Instead of just Clans, How about an additional option like Band, Troop, Tribe or such. That would allow Players/Members to have Clan Chat, a Name, Limited Buildings & Space, and Maybe some limited PVP.

So players who don't like the Dog Eat Dog Military like aspects Clans CAN take on. Can Join Up and have a Store House & Forge, and not have them destroyed within hours. With the + of Clan Chat.

Any how.. just a thought.

Thanks for the Great Game!

I could agree, if you removed the building option. Could make houses crafting options shared if a group member had one. And a much smaller maximum group size, like 4 or 5.

5 players seems small. Maybe 10?
  • One building, called a manor, one storage space per tribe member (20 or 40 slots, no pet storage).
Only tribe members can use manor.
Tribe members can craft at manor.
Manor cannot be sieged or attacked.
Manor has no guards or other defences.
Manor grounds are a safe (no PvP) area.
Tribe members cannot initiate PvP (but can defend themselves against attack).
Tribe members can buy individual PvP protection.
Tribe members cannot join a clan whilst in tribe
If they leave the tribe they cannot join a clan or tribe for X number of days (but are not outlawed).
Tribe members cannot build siege or use siege.
Tribe members enter clan areas at their peril

This is a great idea! I'm not a fan of clans because of the war tactics, but unfortunately, it's currently the ONLY free (well, in game gold cost) option to get full crafting. Yes, it's possible to find someone to craft for you, but organizing a meet has its own issues.

I'm not against the idea as a whole, just some elements of it. For example, the manor house idea sounds very similar (in part) to the houses that players can buy. However, the player houses cost $/ £50 apiece and the manor houses are free -unless I've misread the post that is.

Players must join a clan to be able to craft. That or they need to purchase a house or buy crafted items from a player. The game is this way to encourage players to join clans. It's the price that must be paid. It's all about how bad do you want to be able to craft and what are you willing to do to get it. I didn't necessarily want to join a clan when I was low level but I wanted the ability to craft and so I joined. I got killed a lot but that's the way it goes. I dislike pvp but I am still in the very first clan that I joined. Pvp is part of the game. I believe that the game must remain this way.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one. As much as I'd love to share my house with people (I share everything else lol don't think I've actually sold an item in months) or add a non-pvp method to craft, it's just part of the game to join a clan to expand crafting options.

I absolutely hated this aspect at first. I still do to an extent bc what does pvp have to do with crafting but at the same time, you can temporarily join a clan or have someone in a clan attempt (key word here) to craft the item you desire for you. I've learned to accept this aspect and so have many other players.

No its not fun to be preyed upon by higher levels i aint exactly high up there yet myself but I'll still take on people 3x+ my level to give the players that will just get OHKO'd a chance to flee or log even if it means I lose an item. That's why I buy spares of everything.

Nobody is forcing you to join a clan and there are alternative methods to obtain the crafted items you need. I'd love to see a different crafting method but at the same time I wouldn't because it'd devalue the players' purchase that spent the money on houses to avoid having to join a clan and risk being attacked in PvP.

It pays dividends to make friends in this game, whether it be to have you back when under attack, or to simply help you craft an item that you can't because you don't want to join a clan.

I'm in the same boat btw, been in same clan since I was a week old account and don't plan on leaving :D
