Pack Slots for Spells

Post by Humble_M »

Is there a reason why mage spells, which are considered "skills", should use a storage slot when every other player type's (swordsman, ogre, etc) only use a small bubble on the main screen? This is a disadvantage to mages because they lose a storage spot for each spell.

Here's what I suggest: once a mage has earned (or bought) a spell, it displays on the main screen like all other character skills; no storage slot required.

Yes, I know that some quests do require certain spells to finish. In those cases, purchasing an additional spell would use a storage slot.

This comes from an old time in the game where mages were massively overpowered.
It was intended, I think, to be a handicap. More attack power and options at the cost of bag space.
The game has become more balanced since then.
So, a review of the system could be justifiable.

I'm much in favour of a system that allows you to "equip/unequip" skills or spells as desired.
This would alleviate the problem of having skills you don't like taking up one of your valuable consumable spots... like the 4th sword skill (I have a post for that, in this forum)

That "4th sword skill" post was my inspiration for this one!
