Since the last update fixed the purchase system with purchased (non activated) pets using a pack slot, I was thinking this is a good opportunity to allow users to equip/unequip pets. My idea limits the number of times this can occur based on level. This would also provide opportunity to change (upgrade) a pet as the level increases.
At level 200 - user can unequip a pet 3 times
At level 250 - user can unequip a pet 2 times
At level 300+ - user can unequip a pet 1 time
So, if a user unequips 2 pets at level 205, they'll have ability to unequip one pet 1 time before the counter resets at level 250. Also, unused unequips are not additive; if none used from say level 200-249, user doesn't get 5 at level 250.
Most importantly, only non-fighting pets can be unequipped! so, if a pet is battling PvM or PvP, the option is not available.
Again, this is just a thought.

This would result in players getting "free" upgrades, which would lower sales. I don't expect it to go through.Humble_M wrote:Since the last update fixed the purchase system with purchased (non activated) pets using a pack slot, I was thinking this is a good opportunity to allow users to equip/unequip pets. While the idea of placing pets in inventory isn't new, it hasn't been done. The mechanic is almost possible (one player I know once fished a clan guard), but they currently cannot be activated in this way.
The first step would be a button to move the pet monster to the backpack, and the second would be a mechanic to activate them. They would have to be "non-tradeable", non-fishable, and the monster that goes to your pack would be the pet you have, not the pet purchase item. Otherwise, many abuses would happen. Players would buy ingame pets, move them to backpack, then activate for a purchase-type pet. This would be BAD for the FT economy, and BAD for the creator's income, which pays for the server to operate.

You make some good points. Still, it's worth exploring.madmaniacal1 wrote:This would result in players getting "free" upgrades, which would lower sales.
