Subscription idea?
I know not all are going to like this idea.
The idea I have is for a non-PvP server - that would require a paid subscription to play on.
Not sure if it would ever be considered, or possible, but I would pay for that myself..
I'm sure, there are some who want PvM and social aspects of FT without PvP, who may agree.
Nothing would change on the regular server.
Just players who don't want forced PvP can still enjoy FT.
Idk if the servers could/should be connected in any way...
But one can dream.

Re: Subscription idea?
seems unlikely to happen imo, but if it does, let me suggest that there are no other purchase items at all... oh, and I'll see you there

No purchases? I'd have to disagree. What about the backpacks, gear pack or pets? Simply remove lvls from that version's purchase list. That would be far more fair.blitzcraig wrote:seems unlikely to happen imo, but if it does, let me suggest that there are no other purchase items at all... oh, and I'll see you there

I think there should be some form of purchase - maybe a bulk purchase plan:blitzcraig wrote:seems unlikely to happen imo, but if it does, let me suggest that there are no other purchase items at all... oh, and I'll see you there
backpacks and storage locations (bank, tavern, etc) are purchased together at a discount. Likewise, bulk pet purchase plan (can still activate no more than 2 pets at a time). It's a fair tradeoff so the devs have some incentive to lose their shirts, livlihood, and sanity on another server!
oh, count me in!

jaja i see your points, but I'd still say make the storage free, and no purchases... only pets available are the ones you can get in game (the others makes gaining levels too easy anyway imo :p )

Me, I'd vote for no pets whatsoever. I hate 'em.
But only pets in the game - not purchased ones - is an idea I could get behind.
I know I'm in the minority here, so I'm not holding my breath.

This whole idea isn't worth holding one's breath. Unless the "subscription fee" is under a certain amount, it would just be cheaper to buy protection in regular FT.MadMikael wrote: I know I'm in the minority here, so I'm not holding my breath.

Hmm.. Non PvP server. That would mean either the removal of clan maps, or player owned clan maps, where each player gets a map of their own to build on - A huge task.
Non PvP... What happens when you beat all the mobs too easily due to your grinding going uninterrupted and being high level, fast? You get super bored, because you can't go test your metal against other players.
Why pay for a version of the game, which would likely have less content than the current version of the game?
PLUS SIDES: (or in my opinion, not so PLUS, due to "unfairness" which could be justified by 'You get what you pay for'
If you were to bring your current character from the regular FT over to that server and get to bring it back and forth as you please. You could train when you like on a private server, then come kick backside in the regular server.
Clan maps would still be viable.
More money to the owner (but not likely. I reckon it would take more time than it's worth to create the server just for it to go mostly unused)
These are just my thoughts on the subject.

In some sense, I can agree with you there about the whole idea not being worth holding ones breath for, but if it were to happen, I reckon it would be something like a 2.99/month or 3.99/month type deal, which is affordable, and would be much more cost effective than buying a months worth of PvP protect, AND you could theoretically turn it off and on, unlike PvP protect (provided that you can bring your account between servers, that is).

Different types of gamers enjoy different things for sure. You and many others would get bored without PvP, me and another group would not. if you could not take your accounts back and forth, and could not purchase levels or pets, it'd be a long, long, long time before you outgrew the game as it stands right now (like, maybe a decade lol) so no worries there I think
