Keeping pets behind doors
I've seen players that park pets in a room and then exit without the pet. What's the trick? I need to park my pet inside the entry room of the West Cave

I learned this just last night.Humble_M wrote:I've seen players that park pets in a room and then exit without the pet. What's the trick? I need to park my pet inside the entry room of the West Cave
Hobbs showed me, and the current setup in the Coliseum is meant to allow it - not perfect yet, but it's getting there.
I've detailed the trick in my post about the party. Also, I put signs in the Coliseum to try and explain it (sadly, only in English).
The concept: if your pets are active i.e. walking or attacking, they will not teleport.
So, park your pets a little distance from the 1st teleporter (a door is a teleporter too)
Click the teleporter, they'll come with you; click to go back, and you should see them start walking back to their places
(doesn't work if you parked them too far away)
While they are walking, click the entry teleporter again, and you should teleport without them.
Sometimes it may take a couple tries (if you're a noob like me, for example), but it's easy once you learn how.
Good luck

Re: Keeping pets behind doors
this is nice info... I played around with that, and figured out a slightly easier way (easier for me anyway, others may prefer to do it exactly as you described lol)
anyway,
1> /wait your pets a ways away from the door/teleporter so they stay like a screen away
2> walk to the door/teleporter
3> /wait your pets so they're no longer waiting
4> take a step so your pets start waking toward you
5> use door/teleporter before pets reach you
6> enjoy abandoning your poor, lonely pets

Re: Keeping pets behind doors
I'll try this as well. The entry room to the West Cave is VERY small, so not a lot of room to drop pets, move, teleport, and hope it works!

I have a different angle on this, but i believe similar topic...There are many times when I am trying to escape or move thru a portal or door and WANT my pets to come with me and they dont follow thru the port/ door. This trick would serve me very well in many scenarios. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Keeping pets behind doors
Before you go thru the portal wait for your pets to come to a complete stop "right" next to as they are following you before you enter portal or door. Your pets should come with you. They must be right next to you when you click portal/door for this to work and must not be moving.LIZARDKING wrote:I have a different angle on this, but i believe similar topic...There are many times when I am trying to escape or move thru a portal or door and WANT my pets to come with me and they dont follow thru the port/ door. alternatively, you could /wait them to ensure they stop moving - only problem could be if they're fighting

Re: Keeping pets behind doors
Great info. Next problem i have is many times i will enter/ exit port/door automatically without clicking the attach/enter/exit button. When this happens it prevents my pets from coming to a stop. I assume that everyone encounters this " auto " exit/enter portal bug

Re: Keeping pets behind doors
Update
Pets do not need to be standing right next to you to follow you thru portals/doors
They just need to be not walking
They can even be fighting monsters so long as they not walking
The key is not walking
