I cheat when I make coffee here. Had two regular 12 cup coffee machines (drip) that for what ever reason crapped out. Electrical tension in old neighbourhood and power outages were HORRIBLE! There's the problem. So I bought a "Melita" drip system that uses the #4 filter, and instead of using paper filters, I use a permanent filter that was bought for one of the old drip machines.

Now instead of making a FULL pot with this drip meaning I have to fill it two - three times, I heat two coffee cups under running tap water while I boil enough water for two cups. I put a couple of scoops of coffee in the filter and hold it over the first coffee cup. Filled with water it is enough for about 2 and a half cups, when the first is full I, move the second cup under the dripper and then move them both over the sink.

When the second cup is full, put it on the counter and dump the used grounds in the sink, rinse it out - coffee grinds are biodegradable - clean out the filter and put it away.

Volia - 2 cups of coffee in no time - and fresh every time! :D

I use an "intenso" cafe and with three teaspoons full of coffee it makes for a good strong cuppa joe - the second cup not as strong - just the way my wife likes it.

EDIT: Tablet just ran out of juice ... was playing FT RPG at the dentists be online when it's charged.

Well, things are trucking along fine but grinding up is going to slow down.

There is a reason of course: "House Maintenance" and hey look: CONTEST: Prizes: 3 Mithril Tools

Have spent quite a bit of time on this already and of course getting the contest set up right took some time.
So I will be:
  • grinding up a little each day,
  • helping others a little each day, and
  • chopping wood and mining a lot looking for Magic Trunk and Meteor Stone
Good luck folks!

Some people just gotta show off. There I am standing just finishing off a cyclops ... along come user with two high priced fairy pets and parks one right beside me and continues south. GRRRRRRR.

Then is walks a long range shooter(77) and parks himself just north of me and starts killing my one cyclop! Put myself face to face and ask him if he had a problem finding his own spot. He moved.

Don't get me wrong here, I tank for friends or on the plains of Silverwood quite frequently BUT I do not appreciate people going for my kill with pets or at a distance where they don't risk dying. GRRRRRRR!

Very close to lvl127: 30125/30726

DONE!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEHAAAAWWW

So I'm off levelling up in a place I haven't used in a while because the Cyclops room is busy!!!!! No matter where I go it spawns 3 to 6 Cyclops, I can just handle 2 alone.

And in walks this User(XXX) with two high powered pets ... walks right up to me, his pets kill everything, and I see:
Bro, I need a book, where can I find it!
So I answer the guy who isn't my "Bro" and never seen before that I can recall:
Excuse me, you kill my swarm and then ask for a book I don't have. RIGHT!
He left ...

Of course, I'm gonna jump through hoops to help this guy especially since his lvl was more than double mine.

And like: What book? What quest? And of course with that attitude: Who cares!

Still at lvl 128 (17841/32201) due to playing my alts this AM helping new users, no Blue Spandex Ninja Suit to strike fear in the hearts of new users. And of course, a little shopping (RL with wife) and then getting the Contest WINNER squared away.
I'll fight for what I think is right!

Made it to lvl 129 with the help of LIZARDKING.

Now you know he has to be a nice guy with the initials LK right! ... Right!... RIGHT!
{really big cheesy grin here}

Helped me lvl with red monsters and and then mine mithril and now I'm upping my crafting skills. This will be a long process but worth it. Thank you LK! {yup, really like those initials}

And now hungry_wolf wants to meet up and do stuff .... OH YEA! Let's do it! Love his little Pizza & Chianti Hut, unless he doesn't like it called that; then it's: I love his little wooden house :D

Seems my little Contest is attracting people a lot of good people, and at least 4 that:
misquote, but sums it up:
I don't want any prize, I just want to help.
And give they did, very generously. If by the time 3rd Prize goes, and I WILL still have extra Mithril Tools I'm going to extend the prize list to match what's left. I didn't buy them, they cost me nothing and were given to me for the Contest so they will be used for the contest. Only OOPS is if the next two want a Mithril Pick-Axe - I only have one left to give away. 50 Mithril ore to make 10 Mithril Ingots with a Magic Trunk and Meteor Stone at a 22% chance of success - have failed twice so far! Could take FOREVER!

However that being said: the extra prizes will be "one of something I have" no a choice outside of that restricted list. And may even state what the prize are:

Code: Select all

EXAMPLE:
4th Prize: Mithril Fishing Rod
Winner: name here

5th Prize: Mithril Axe
Winner: name here

6th Prize: Mithril Pickaxe
Winner: name here
I DO LOVE THIS GAVE!
I'm finding some EXCELLENT people in the MMOG game, some I have known even before starting the game, meeting up with them here because of this thread.

Remember, I started with FT RPG (offline) about a week before starting this thread "Mon 11 Sep, 2017 @ 23:32" and it was the people I met early on that "talked me into" joining the MMOG game. So let's say I started MMOG 20 Sept or there about, I can't find a way to know for sure.

And it's been a roller coaster of a ride since. As LK pointed out last night; about lvl 40(ish) I wanted to quit, I didn't believe people could get to lvl 80 and then the fun really started, people from this thread showed up and helped me, showed me how to do things, and I started sharing the wealth with newer players than I was, My days became help people in the morning/day and evening/night grind up.

People like GOLGREN, bless his big green heart, waddled into view and "HULLO!" ... eeek! ... "GOLGREN TANK! COME" And those two black dragons ... nice dragons ... man they could crispy critter me in one sneeze! First time that happened it was almost a heart stopper! Like I'm gonna disobey a green ogre with a lvl of 4444 NOT! so I followed, and found out what 'tanking' is. For LostKnight GOLGREN is one of the nicest guys here, he'll probably eat me for saying that but then I could be crushed, mushed, splattered, beaten to a pulp or spit on by much lesser people here. So being eaten by GOLGREN would be an HONOUR, cuz he eats everything! Nuff Said!

And then there's me today ... NOW I understand why new users are afraid of me in my Blue Spandex Ninja Suit ... check out this post by me:

See; now I know exactly how new users feel when I walk by in my Blue Spandex Ninja Suit with two knee high giant green spiders trailing behind me.

Just the other day I was standing around, watching what was going on around me and an ogre approached slowly, closer, stopped, moved closer, stopped and then looked like he was attacking one of my pets so I:
USERNAME(4): They are my pets, they are friendly and will protect you!
He paused ... walked in circles around me, pausing every now and then, and then walked away. It was funny!

Now none of this is to belittle ANY other player that has helped me. It's all recorded in this thread ... love you all in a family sort of way, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grand kids, great grand kids. My pixel family! Hey, at 68 I'm sure some of you fit those last two descriptions, or if you prefer: friends. I like them all!

So feel free to call me Uncle LK (ULK), Bro LK (BLK), Grampa LK (GLK or GGLK) whatever, but if your serving (pixel) Chianti, do not call me Late LK (LLK)! hahahahaha OR if you want: LK is just fine too! Now if LIZARDKING and I are together and you walk by "Hi LKs" works for me, but at lvl (15xx) you better ask the other LK if he'll accept it. :D

TRUE STORY: I remember sitting in an AA meeting a LONG time ago, in a land far far away, guy next to me says, "Hi I'm LostKnight and I'm and alcoholic." My turn, I look at him in surprise and say; "Hi I'm LostKnight too and I'm an alcoholic too!" For years after that meeting, and it spread like wildfire to other meetings, with our without him present, I was always "LostKnight2" and he became LostKnight1 everywhere he went. When at the same meeting, we always sat together "Hi I'm LostKnight1", and "Hi I'm LostKnight2" Aaaaaaa nostalgia - always better to have it than the other option ... you know one minute your her 'nostalgizing (new word) the next - blink! Any day you can get nostalgic is therefore a good day!

This morning I spent a part on my morning re-reading up to the start of page 6 of this thread. I can see how one day I'm all A then the next B and then A again ... yea I've been everywhere with this game; on upppers, on downers, (metaphorically speaking) enjoying the ride, getting ANGEY at archers, mages, fairies killing my spawn from behind the safety of a wall where they don't get hurt. GRRRRRRR!!! And then to add insult to injury they'd create a huge spawn on both sides, kill the ones around them a 6 pack at a time (mage fairy) and then kill mine! GRRRRRRRRR AGAIN!

BUT ... it's a part of the game. Live with it!

OK: back online crafting!

I still think ranged attacks should not cross walls. Area attacks (e.g. spells) are OK.

I half agree with you. How would a mage/fairy know there was something on the other side of a solid wall, door?

The area effects I'm thinking of are those which spread even if the target is local. The mechanics of stopping them crossing walls would require too much coding and may cause lag.
Direct ranged attacks (wand strikes, missiles) should be easier to block in code when they hit a wall, without producing lag.

@ Arashiko

I understand the mechanics of the coding nightmare it would cause. And it's just one of those things gamers have to live with unless compbatant wants to add 12²⁵ lines of code and really slow things down. I don't see it happening.

BUT it doesn't mean I think it's fair and I'd rather have little an oops! here and there than have a game that runs like trying to walk through knee deep mud without loosing your slip on shoes. :D
