I would like to suggest changing the drop limit 1 restriction on level 0 boots. I am currently crafting multiple pairs of 750 Archer boots and it would be nice if I the green lizards would drop boots more than once.

Not sure why the game mechanics work this way.

+1 I think it would be nice to help newbies and would be easier to farm them if you could hold more than 1 pair in bag.

The same is true of mage gloves

Unique items? I could maybe understand that for level 1000+ items, but not for level 0!

keep in mind, when they were created, there were no level 1000 items... highest level gear was like 8 ;)

and you know me, I think a bit of challenge is a good thing - and it provides a little value to those boots, so one player doesn't go to start map and hand out 80 pairs at a time, ruining the enjoyment of being them for all the lower levels :p

(yes, I know I'm in the minority of people who think things shouldn't always be super easy, so I thought I'd share a contrary opinion ;) )

I can see your point blitz...however:

I am currently working on getting my craft level to 7 and I am filling my packs with crafting materials and just wish this were changed. Crafting is already hard enough without a limit on certain resources.

Nightbaby brought up a good point also. A level 0 player cannot acquire these boots on their own and generally turn to higher levels to help them much like they do the 75 pink boots, 100 ammy, 150 Ammy, 100 shield, and blitz boots. There is no way players of these levels can acquire them on their own.

I believe these items were made so hard to get to encourage the social aspect of FT so that players would be encouraged to make friends to help them. I believe that was Compbatants intention and I believe all mmo's are geared towards this.

+1 to Arishiko for bringing up the mage gloves. I didn't know those had a limit on them.

Nothing will necessarily come easily, and nothing should be super easy, especially for a newbie.

I'll agree to removing the limit;

Like it was said, players can't even obtain a pair themselves at the levelocity the hey can wear them. The fact that multiples can't be obtained (without the use of 2 accounts) stops most people from even obtaining them for others. You're not gonna get anything for em, and it's annoying to have to get them one at a time.

I do know errythang shouldn't be made easier, but this is just level 0 boots. The walking speed is slow enough even with boots, they ain't as "special" as they used to be.

I'd just give new accounts a starting pair tbh, the only thing it's hurting is brand new players. Anyone that makes an alt will just use their main and a friend (or another device) to get a pair in minutes. New players get scolded at spawn begging for them (or help obtaining them) which in turn makes them quit from the harsh response.


Anyways, yes to removing the limit. I really don't get why it's still in place.

I totally agree, that's what makes it" special " when somebody does... more to appreciate that way

Actually, I was the one who set the stats on most of those when they were introduced into the game, and while you're right that I knew even then that it'd mostly be with help from higher level players, they were intended to be acquired by players of the appropriate level (yes, with difficulty lol)... keep in mind that when most of those were added, most "high level" players were like 200 or so, and there was only one higher than 500.

To be fair, I'm not actually opposed to changing the boots, it makes no difference to me, I just like to share an opposing viewpoint so that the issue is thoroughly discussed before making decisions or changes ;)

I'm going to go a little of topic here.

Blitz, I had no idea that you were a part of the development process when FT was still new.

I bet that was an exciting time to be a part of FT.

I imagine that FT was changed a lot back then because it was new and things needed to be tested and ironed out. Maybe it even felt like FT was a whole nother world than it is now... In a galaxy far, far, away.
