why do i always see the same names getting warnings on mchat, on forum, on maps.
they spawn build, they abuse a bug. get a warning. stop unti gm.is gone. and do it again.
same next day, and again, and again, and again
the same names get warned, and get away with it while the damage is done.
And they go wild on the times theres no gm on.
screenshots have been taken. posted in forums, in pms.
links in mchat.
no reaction from gm.
but nothing changes. what ever hapened to 3strikes out.
i know ur volunteers and busy. but ur promoting and rewarding abuse of bugs and ignoring rules.
the sad thing is that i cannot blame them. GM is allowing, and therefor supporting this abuse. it works. ft is expensive if u buy lvls and abusing bugs or ignoring rules unpunished is rewarded because u get stronger faster.
the same names

Re: the same names
Why do I always see the same vague and slanderous comments, that are unfounded and based mostly on rumours spread?
The amount of misinformation out there is just staggering.
A warning is usually only given for mild infractions.
Unless you're speaking of only your own reports, then you're exaggerating.
Many claim to make reports and don't do it properly.
Whining at the start map does not constitute a report in many cases.
Don't believe what all of them tell you.
As for what action is taken, you will not always know if/when it happens.
As for jail, yes, mains do get jailed, and yes, there are multi-k accounts in perm jail.
Screenshots don't always prove things.
Fact is, clan maps need babysitters. I still say we should just delete them all.
If you mean, they don't reply to every post, correct. They shouldn't need to. Same goes with private messages.
If you mean, they don't come charging in for every ambiguous report, correct. Many cry wolf all the time.
If you mean, nothing is done whatsoever, incorrect. You have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, nor are punishments broadcasted when they happen. The only time you hear of it, is when someone cries how they were unfairly punished.
Which rule number is that?
Oh wait... you have FT confused with a game called baseball.
Here you are, just complaining.
You're not contributing to the game in any way.
You're pointing out faults of others, and not making any effort to change things.
Whoops, looks like I'm doing that too...
So lets just all sit around and cry, and not do anything.
Now seriously.
If you have some magical solution to all problems, please share it.
I can think of a few.
Hire a staff of GMs, about 50 or so, paid, to work 24 hours a day.
Oh wait, despite the rumours you hear, the game does not make that much money.
Change the programming of the game to fix this.
Oh wait, you don't program the game, and neither do I. How does that happen? Post a suggestion, get compbatant to want to do it.
I HAVE THE ANSWER
Delete the game entirely. No more problems.
Oh wait, then we don't have the game. And if you go to another one, you'll still find the EXACT SAME TYPE OF ISSUES.
The game is what it is.
You have three options:
1. help fix it with ideas and reports (and not give into the frustration that comes with that method)
2. accept it (and preferably, quit complaining)
3. quit playing
The fourth option is what most people opt for.
4. keep crying like a little ***** because there's things in life you can't control and crying like a little ***** makes you feel better on some little insignificant level - even though you may well realize it accomplishes little save to spread more negativity and moaning, and hurts the feelings of those who are actually making some sort of attempt to make the game better
you want to point fingers at those who are attempting to help the game
I want to point fingers back at those who are complaining about them, saying their effort is not good enough
we both point at the trouble makers who are actually the problem
personally, I think all GMs should either quit, or just go on strike
let's see what would happen to the game then
let's see how many complain about what GM's do in fact do when that happens

Re: the same names
just filed a big reply and its lost so im gonna react in pieces now.
first im surprised at this reaction.
i thought u know me and i write a lot in forum. in bugs, clans, off topic, help. etc.
i write about bugs, abuse, help with quests, answer questions about game. i dont just whine and conplain.
in fact i reacted to your bug report on pvp and you agreed in a reaction that sadly enough abusing bugs is rewarded.
But. fact is that i see the same names being warned by several gm members in mchat and on start map or on.map where they come for alledged abuse of rules.
fact is that i see them doing the same things after gm leaves map. and the same a few days later.
and im.talking mostly about my own reports, own observations andreports iv seen on forum or chat where gm did react with warnings or stated things were illegal.
i kept things vague in not naming names since im not seeking punishments or wanting a yes/no game.
i dont want to frame anyone. i want to show there is a problem where cheating/abusing is profitable.
your not saying you dont know who im talking about are you?
you asked about the solution othercthen 50gms?
well iv given it. low tollerance. 3abuses ban account and all on same ip adress. some will still play on new other ip adresses but with a bit of effort you can find them. typicaly they like to brag about beating the system.
might need some programming but im talking/acusing gm. that includes creator.
secondly.
i know u dont like clans but its part of the game and with lvl buying the only real way to keep score imo. one rich kid cant beat a group of people with different toles working to a goal with his wallet (akthough a group of rich kids can)
you cannot ignore clans and just say delete them.
There is a lot of good stuff in clans. especialy friendship.
thirdly.
reactions from gm
many rules are unclear , outdated or abused. i have posted in forum and asked for clarifications in certain situations a few times. only you did react, but after leaving gm. a gm reaction would habe made things much clearer. not only for these situations but in general.
follow up questions in green chat and pm have not been answered btw.
in general.i would like these things/questions to be answeted onforum and not in private. that way we all learn from them.
you say people get punished in secret. but we only see their accounts doing the same stuff we think illegal again and again. and dont know what they might have been punished for or even if what they doing is illegal or not.
no visible punishment... must be legal... i do the same.... jail bevause u did it at wong time.
thats whats happening atm.
im not acusing the gm guys. i count most of them as friends and we all like to improve this game.
but i do critisize how lightly abuse of rules is punished.
that has nothong to do with the dedication of gms.

I'm going to try to be a calm and focusing influence here
You said, "many rules are unclear, outdated or abused"
That's something I think we should discuss. The rules were quite recently updated (after Mike himself practically begged the community for input) so I'm interested to see where they still need work. Care to elaborate please?

This sadly happens if you type a big reply and don't refresh with the forum, i.e. hit preview often.rearrow wrote:just filed a big reply and its lost so im gonna react in pieces now.
Just try and hit preview once every 5 minutes.
It shouldn't. I'll explain lower.rearrow wrote: first im surprised at this reaction.
Yes, I can confirm this, that you do usually contribute in ways that many do not.rearrow wrote:i thought u know me and i write a lot in forum. in bugs, clans, off topic, help. etc.

I have always admired you for that.
But my reply to your above post should not surprise you.
You sound quite similar to those you're complaining about.
My replies to them are quite similar to the one above.
I'm going to bend a rule here. I personally banned one of those I think you're referring to from the forum for a week not long ago for this, and it's all in the forum logs. Also, the mchat warnings you see aren't much, it's the warnings in the logs (only moderators can see) that are used in these issues. They're the ones that such decisions are based on. It is taken into account, past warnings and time passed. I'm sure, if he pushes it far enough, he will get a much longer forum ban next time. The mchat warnings are usually given so all can see them, so that you know there is something being noted about it.rearrow wrote: But. fact is that i see the same names being warned by several gm members in mchat...
I see this too.rearrow wrote: ... and on start map or on.map where they come for alledged abuse of rules.

Just sitting on start map fishing. I've caught many who were completely ignorant of the forum, and never knew this alt (my forum name). Even though it was listed in my signature.
As it is, I see cusses and offering to sell accounts etc.
I just take pictures of the stuff and send it in now. If anything happens or not, idc.
I will tell you, the wanted list for mutes is never short.
And yes, some will behave only when the GM is around, and misbehave as soon as the GM leaves.
I was getting known for my trend of "entrapments", where I would leave, but still be watching on an alt. That helped a little, but GMs cannot be everywhere at every time. Really, I've wanted to crawl through the screen, not only smacking the kid in the head, but his parents as well, on many occasions.
I am glad that you say this, and I do take your word as such.rearrow wrote: and im.talking mostly about my own reports, own observations andreports iv seen on forum or chat where gm did react with warnings or stated things were illegal.
I do know that many make similar comments as your above post simply based on things they heard from a friend who heard from a friend.
I thought my previous reply said something like that. The response was for everyone, not just you.
This is a logic I don't get though.rearrow wrote: i kept things vague in not naming names since im not seeking punishments or wanting a yes/no game.
i dont want to frame anyone. i want to show there is a problem where cheating/abusing is profitable.
your not saying you dont know who im talking about are you?
I understand, you've made many reports in the past (just stated a few lines up), but now you're saying, you don't want to report, and not seeking punishments? I do understand, not wanting to name some publicly, as that could cause problems (from players or GMs)...
Cheating and abusing is profitable, sure. Just like real life, where violating the law can be profitable.
But.. there are consequences.
As for the problem, it's not a secret; but yes, it would be nice if more got on the forum and spoke up about it, and maybe get compbatant's attention (as most of the issues could be better fixed by him).
Think of my real life example. If crime is rampant, what do you do?
You don't point fingers at the police officers who are trying.
You get more police officers. Good ones.
You go higher up, and change the laws.
Or worst case, you take matters into your own hands, breaking laws to deal with criminals... and become one in the process.
In the terms of punishments, I can agree.rearrow wrote: you asked about the solution othercthen 50gms?

In fact, I've always tended to vote for harsher punishments.
Others tend to vote softer.
Many times an admin steps in and makes the final decision.
Personally, I think anyone using an autoclicker should get perm ban on first offence. Many MMOs do that.
I don't like clans the way they are, no. I've made countless suggestions over the years, and most never happened. So, I accepted that, and opted out.rearrow wrote: secondly.

Thing is, many of these cheaters and abusers do so in a clan context. Sure, I can argue, getting rid of clans would solve that problem. But it's not really a solution anyway. As for friendship, yes, I agree. I've stated many times that the community and friends are what keep me around. I don't need clans for that.
Really, the solution to this resides in the base mechanics of it, and that I cannot fix, although I repeatedly try to encourage ideas to fix it.
blitzcraig's reply is good here.rearrow wrote: thirdly.

I spent months personally revising and rewriting the rules. As such, I am personally offended by your comment of them being unclear, or outdated. The only one that is unclear to me is 14, and I've stated that many times. I do not like the rule one bit, but I accept why it is needed. I will even admit, it's a factor of why I quit; not just the rule itself, but all that it represents.
As for green chat, most GMs ignore it completely.
PMs are never in short supply; quite often, I'd check from tablet, read it, and forget to reply later from PC.
When you're getting tons of PMs a day, it happens.
Oh, I would love to publicly announce every single jailing, and reason.rearrow wrote: in general.i would like these things/questions to be answeted onforum and not in private. that way we all learn from them.

But, that's a little harsh, or so I'm told.
Ok, the scammers list, that's cool and all... but look at how long that one got... use your imagination.
Now I just sit back and call people on it when they tell untruths, and I also don't hold back my opinions as much (professionalism held me back).
Yeah, again... I wish the punishments were harsher too... especially on certain offences.rearrow wrote: thats whats happening atm.

But think of how mutes work... (not so much the old way; I helped in changing that too)...
Multiple chances, increasing durations, eventually permanent.
That's how almost all punishments work.
It's a game, not a military establishment.

please dont be offended.
im.refererring mostly to.on what is considered spawn.
a new clan building a new lvl 1tower while war/fighting is going on. building a second one without improving first . a third
9new walls of existing clan apearing. allowed or do you have to improve one to green before the second.
a clan in war in contested area placing a castle in front of another. not building it up. just imediately rebuild if its destroyed. repeat x times
a lvl 5 enterering clan map.and blocking heal
all these are, unclear to me and have been answered differently by players in my own clan.

Re: the same names
Would there be a way of coding something in specifically for clan maps?
If one clan member attacks someone or a building from a different clan, the whole clan is recognised by the game as enemies. This has the knock-on effect that enemy /opposing clans are not able to build with x distance of each other.

I'm with you Mad. Harsher punishments and permanent jail for FIRST time auto clicker use.
You are absolutely correct. Other mmorpg's perm ban for first time auto clicker use and they stand absolutely firm on this. They know the repercussions on being soft on that issue.
And most mmorpg's require a player to go to the store and purchase the game and charge a monthly fee to play.
