Actually, refusing to release players until we're sure they've read the rules - and understand them - is quite a sound procedure.
Just taking pics of the rules, doesn't mean you read them.
As for this player, I think his reason for his accounts being jailed should be rather obvious to him.
It was obvious to any who saw him.

Its agreed that all players should read the rules and understand them, but in most civilized country's and also some not so civilized, the trial comes first before the jail and the accused has the right to know the accusation s aginst them.....how can u correct something u are doin wrong,if your not even positive what u did wrong

To be fair i think a trial system should be done first before jail. If proven guilty then jail lol according to the offence. But everyone should have a right to defend himself before jail. Innocent until proven gulity !! That's only my opinion lol.

To think our self confidence is lower than that of our enemies is Death!!
Staying alive in battlefield in fear of our enemies is Death!!
Running from our enemy instead of fighting is Death!!

I actually love the idea of public trials.
This way, the true scum of the game (no, not the ones posting above) can be shown to all.
Everyone will know what you did wrong - no more secrets, no more confidentiality.
No more GMs having to sit and take slander from players who like to tell half-truths, as we could immediately all see what they did.
I love this idea.

I understand a trial may cut into arts and craft time

trial before jail, as it's being applied here, is ludicrous. Allow me to explain.

1> First off, there is no "trial" here. The developer and his team set the rules; we follow them, or are punished accordingly.

2> The closest thing there is to a trial, which is investigation by the GM team, is performed before the jailing anyway.

3> Saying things like, "in a civilized society, there is a trial before jail" fails to take into account the fact that the accused is generally taken into custody before the trial, to ensure that (s)he cannot continue whatever illegal activity (s)he is accused of.

4> GM rule number 7 obviously only applies when the character is logged in at the time.

5> Rules 3&4 say the exact opposite of what you're implying -- they state specifically that additional accounts may be punished

6> Nobody has to guess at anything. Again, the reality here is exactly the opposite of what you're stating - to ensure that nobody has to guess at anything, the GMs are going to spend time with the player to ensure (s)he understands the rules, and how they were violated.

7> Yes, all these rule breaking pieces of garbage do indeed cut into the time that GMs have, which could better be spent by helping players enjoy the game, thanks for bringing that up.

You're right, I'm unfit to be a GM, and should step down.
Because this doesn't help anyone in any way, shape, or form.
GMs should not do anything fun at all.
Remember that, next time you consider any event or party.

When I rejoined the team this last time, I made it clear I came back to finish certain works.
These are not works that players will see - these are behind the scenes stuff, meant to better the game for all.
When those jobs are done, I will be stepping down.
And until then, I will be doing as little GM work as possible - fact is, I don't want to do it anymore.
That doesn't mean I'll shirk responsibilities - simply, that I'll avoid them.
I decided to take yesterday off - and look, something happened, and I had to work.
I did what was needed.

I could say some very choice words here, but instead, I'll just leave with these:
