Yea if the item stats don't go above the best item in game at the time 50$ for a graphic change on a piece of gear is a crazy price

Well, a 2k mage could have the mana changed to dex in a piece of gear or weapon, reducing the amount of points they would need to attribute to dex, which would appeal to some. Also, if DaHobbit's idea of improving it with gear updates was to pass, the result would be gear that grows with the game.

Aside from that, there are players whose vanity will compel them to get this. They simply will not be able to resist. The pvp-drop exempt status the items have will appeal to the warmongers in FT, as well.

DaHobbit wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2018 3:39 am There will be no change in range as that would immediately make it OP. I also think no item should have better stats than the best item currently in the game.
agreed on both.although i could imagine somwthing like 25statpoints over current max so a lv 2k+ gets a little stat bennefit as well.
but tbh its not necessary. the not dropping aspect is huge.
you can pvp withput risking to loose your item. thats worth the price.

ps im still totaly against it since it basicly allows people to buy no drop. making pvp against them useless..

Agreed
i dont agree. the nodrop aspect is worth it for those players. just see what is paid for 2k items at the moment.
but someone buying a full set of items for $300 will never drop again. can wear top gear always and attacking him is useless since you cant win anything, only loose your own gear.

maybe it could be changed that if the custom item is suposed to drop a standard item of similar lvl (up to 2k) is dropped instead. so if rearrows custom 1156 " rearrows hat" is 'dropped' . it actualy stays but a lv1k helmet drops instead. giving the attacker a reason to atill try to kill people with cuatom items.

If u can't drop these items then why bother PvP? I personally liked to PvP it's recently I've got tired some. But ofc I will PvP again , the point is

Why PvP when ur opponent has bought customized gear with above 2k gear stats and won't drop it? And while you use regular items for PvP that you can actually drop. So there won't be any meaning for PvP and it's gonna be some boring :(

I have wanted to pop in here a few more times than I have, but backed out to read more by people that have been around longer than I. Being a noob in the game with only 5 months under my belt, there is no way I can talk about what FT was a year ago, let alone 5 years.

BUT, like all things: they evolve or die! And like all things, sometimes we like the new sometimes we don't.

The fact that FT is still going, and going strong after 5 years is a "good sign" that something is being done right.

I like the idea of personalized gear. Can't afford it (fixed income pension), can't buy it (no credit card).

So I say: For those who can afford and want it: Go for it. Support the game you love! A year later with a great amount of luck, just maybe, I'll get one to drop. And, if I'm at the right level, get to use it, if not I can sell it or give it to a friend who can use it.

@ Ryaca: "and FT is not going anywhere" - right! Let's nail, weld and solder this sucker in place! But leave the back door open for future developments. :D

@ compbatant: KUDOS! on a great game!

@ quickshot3

Except for gamers who don't like PvP and use it so it doesn't drop! Like a weapon; never drops.
