about smaller clans on clan maps:
In many of the bigger clans people take care of eachother and have different roles in clan as explained before.
One reward for loyalty is that some who want to establish their own clan get help and the original clan (and allies) helps with building. and they are likely to ally.
these new clans have their own dukes but of course there are friendship bonds.
It also leads to interesting situations where another ally attacks the new clan and the 'sponsor'
has to choose what to do since both are allies.
this part is a major headache and can take up lots of off-game diplomavy

you are allowed to post of course.

but you talk about no activity and if you are not involved in running a clan you may not be aware of much of the activity going on.

now im spending a lot of time on clan business typing this, but you wont see me on the map.
several hours a day are spend in chats with other dukes, potential new clanmembers or allies, etc.
so not seeing anyone on a map doeant say they are not doing clan business.

furter more you make general acquisations, but refuse to give examples to prove them.

you dont give people the chance to defend themselves

One thing all GM members admid is that they do not know much about clan bussibess and clans. it results from their role in ft. so sending them a private list of dead clans, just creates a lot of work for them.
why not just post here and give the clans a way to react . if they dont it makes your case stronger.

but doing it like this just makes it looks like your on some private vendetta. im sure thats not the case but it looks like it.
rearrow thank you for taking the time to explain these things with me. It is much appreciated. Remember I'm a noob. ;) I cannot give certain specific details as it would help certain abusers keep abusing but i always appreciate your advice as you have been playing much longer than me and certainly know much more about clan politics than i do. Very good post.

I would like to say that i really believe that the clan upkeep is a good idea and that I'm glad for everyone's feedback.

The forums have been very active and i know that that can only be a good thing.

The more Players bounce ideas back and forth the more FT will be better off. I really believe that.

Several accounts have been jailed so far and i believe that that is a victory and certainly a step in the right direction.

Let us all learn to embrace change as change will surely cone whether we like it or not.

Cleopatra wrote: Thu Mar 08, 2018 4:20 am Just because you don't see the members of that particular clan it doesn't mean they're not active.
For example, most people won't see the members of rdt, but you'll see some members of Trek.
-1.2 might look a little inactive, but you would be wrong.
We have members that watch that map like a hawk and prove it pretty quickly if we're under attack.
So just because you don't see them doesn't mean they're not active and doesn't mean they are not watching their clans  of course, I guess you can always knock on the door and see if anyone's home
I already talked about how they are watched. Thank you for your feedback. So are you for or against the clan upkeep idea?
It just depends on what the upkeep would imply...
If it would be like some small dilapidation of the buildings and walls that's understandable. In fact, I've always liked that idea. Just like in real life weather damages buildings, not a whole bunch but a little.

I quite like to see clan bases teeming with activity and so would prefer minor restoration to prevent buildings degrading, rather than throwing x amount of gold to solve the issue.

Agreed. And it would help weed out bases that really don't have any members logging on and with the upgrade cost and materials needed if a base was neglected for a certain amount of time it could be removed with possibly a new post by the GM team.

I think we are on the right track.

I appreciate all who posted here with their feedback.

Thank you all for your thoughts.

I really appreciate it.

Why don't you simplify it?
Clan member must visit base weekly and
a) pay membership fee (X gold per player level) - money goes into clan funds
b) undertake at least one other activity on clan map (chop… mine… craft)

Each week clan funds reduce slightly

If a player (other than D or L) goes one month or more without paying weekly fee, player loses clan membership automatically.

Now playing again as Arozel.
