As of now, craft materials (mats) must be located in pack storage. This creates extra work for homeowners who may have mats in their house. Here's what I suggest:
when crafting at a house, the craft mechanism will check if any required mats are in house storage, then use them. If no mats or not enough mats are in house storage, then the mechanism checks pack storage. If not enough mats are still not available, then the standard message displays ("you don't have enough x").
Crafting at clan buildings would still require moving mats from clan storage to pack storage. This would prevent abuse. "Shared" storage should not have this capability!

Re: House Storage Crafting
This would be very convenient, as now, with houses you can automatically transfer items to house storage simply by storing pets - their packs go into storage if there is room (beware if you don't have room! they show as drops on screen)
However, there is a slight risk of those "accidental" crafts.... of course, players will need to be more careful, but they'll still happen.
Just like how some people have already "paid players to accept their items" with the new trading system.
We can try to make it as obvious as possible - system message repeating, multiple posts/guides, but it comes down to some players just don't read things they should. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

Re: House Storage Crafting
maybe include a "summary" card after clicking the craft button? the summary would show which items will get used, and user must click a button to continue, or "x" to close and stop craft
well, something like this...

Call it an introduction to life where thinking things through leads to fewer issues down the road.

"Introduction to life"? I know grown people that haven't learned this lesson yet (and yes, some of them play FT). LolSellSword wrote: Tue Apr 17, 2018 9:32 pm Call it an introduction to life where thinking things through leads to fewer issues down the road.![]()
On topic, though, I like the idea. The flaw that MadMikael named (accidental craft) is one that we already deal with, so I don't think it would impact players TOO hard. Perhaps a notification when opening house craft could let players know about the change, and to be careful.

I like the idea as well, and MadMikael's concern (i.e., the pretty obvious one) came to mind before I read it as well. As far as issues go this likely would be down on the list of priorities though, since we're really talking about a few extra seconds every now and then. I'd be fine with the change, but far from heartbroken if it wasn't made.
When I first got a house I was so excited to craft. I will admit to a fair amount of shifting materials around wondering why I kept getting "not enough ___" messages before finally figuring it out!

Re: House Storage Crafting
Eh, the extra confirmation would be nice, but in the end it won't really solve things for the impatient ones.
Think about it.
How often do you use a computer, and you're just so used to clicking "OK" on popups? LOL
I know I'm guilty of clicking more than one I wish I'd have read more closely
I'm more in favour of the "learn life's lesson" point of view.
I learned to look a little more closely... so should they.
But, a confirmation showing that x items will be used from your house storage wouldn't be bad.

Re: House Storage Crafting
Actually, I just meant a basic message (similar to "not enough ____") that reminds you that your stored items will be used first (or second, depending on how comp coded it).
Either way, "live and learn" will apply regardless, even if this change never happens. Lol
