@ SellSword & Leone & Elgur

Well there are some that would not agree with you three. And they'd be right.

I've not treated everyone that way. And I'm not going to get into the W5's* and How's either. Let's just say... I do my best and fall short at times, sometimes on purpose, sometimes not.

There are some people ... well, to quote an FT/RL MIA friend "There are some that deserve to die. And they don't all have black names".

Some don't like me, their choice, even though I do like them. Just like RL huh!

= = = = =

And on a different note, went to Devil's Island today for the 2nd and 3rd time because I was told there is a quest there. The first time I roamed the island, found the stairs, went down - saw the skull and crossbones flag, went back up. Guy wanted 40m to go back to the mainland, I talked him out of it, I'm not rich!

2nd trip: Found a lvl 500 Mage's Meditation hat. Asked a friend what I could sell it for. Reply: 200m :o  and I know just the 'fairy' to give it to too. /msg already gone out. The "balls" took me to STA*

3rd trip: walked right past the place where I found the hat, and out another door and found a broken portal. Went back above ground and the Wizard that worked the portal to the mainland wanted 80m. Bloodsucker... I'm NOT RICH! What's next 160m?

Stripped my gear to make it faster an less painful and spawned some devils ==> STA!

They say this is for level 400. RIIIIIIGHT! "Maybe" a 400 mage/fairy that can heal him/herself, or a guy/gal with fury - but a 400 knight! NOOOO! Level 820 with worms, yea, that might work.
______
* W5 = Who, What, Where, When & Why
* STA = SKULL Travel Agency - DIE! Go directly to Map 0.0, Do not pass GO! Do NOT collect $200

Not going to deny that I agree with my FT/RL friend and you.

1: Like a guy that parks his pets near my spawn, and then has the arrogance to go fishing in a nearby river! Lost half my spawn to him. Or:

2: Someone who "spawn kills" my friend and his pet in the mithroom under Silverwood and " lol "s about it until a GM's alt shows up (he was looking to mine mithril; perfect timing). Then he changes his tune and says "No I didn't!". Well, screenshots don't lie, caught in the act and caught laughing about it! I don't normally report people, and this guy I didn't really have to, it happened live in game.

And on and on it goes ... most times I just leave. There is a reason I prefer to grind alone. It's not fun when "party crashers" show up and a mage/fairy uses their "kill all" spell on your spawn and 6 to 8 monsters disappear up in smoke or and archer stops and uses fire arrow on all of your spawn. I'm a knight, I have to stand in harms way, and when these "long distance killers" show up and steal my spawn - and yes I do mean STEAL, I am NOT happy about it.

Fully agree with the above. Only thing worse than someone parking their pets on you for the purpose of stealing spawn is when they laugh about it.

On the other side... Once when I was sloooowly chipping away at ice gremlins there was a high level who popped in with fairies and headed my way. "Oh great" I tell myself as I was already forced out of one spot because of someone. No, nice guy/gal stops a ways back and lets me take a minute to finish. Then this nice person parks one fairy and tells me I can retreat back towards his/her pet if I need to and moves on to a different part. It was not needed, but that was pretty nice. A belated thank you to this nice person and others in the same vein!

YES! And I have to admit - there are a lot more nice people out there than there are bad people. However like in the RW bad news sells, good news goes to page 18.

I can't count the number of times I have told people to run to/stay close to my pets if they need to heal. Simply because I have had people tell me the same. See you can teach an old dog new tricks. Or when helping a younger player (age = lvl) get to that "chest" without dieing. "Stay close to my pets to stay safe!" And here's where "ranged pets" excel I believe. But that JMHO. :D

No, I much prefer ranged as they're easier to work with. Good to adapt though I guess.
