I like these old threads being revived. It's great to see some names from back then. Some have gone but are definitely still a part of FT.

Yes, exactly.
Before the /time command, we were having such issues when organizing anything where players needed to meet.
This could be simple item trades, or even spawn events being announced.
The /time command gave us all a time we could agree on, and all could figure out "what's that in my timezone?"

Perhaps, also, a clocktower that shows the time when tapped on in every major village (Such as Kedington, Silverwood, Martek's stronghold)

And IMHO ... FTT Clock should show the same "time" that the:
command displays less confusion that way. Yea yea, it's a given ... just saying!

I have it on my computer desktop all the time (pardon the pun)
Now if there any Linux users out there that want a real 24 analog clock for their desktop, I can convert this "conky" clock to an FFT Clock very easily.
And IMHO ... FTT Clock should show the same "time" that the:
