About birds

Birds now do all fly toward same direction, from left to right. That seems quite out of nature.
I'd like them to fly over in random directions, but the OCD in me suggests to use them as compass.

They could fly left to right in all maps with negative X, and right to left in ones with positive X.
Plus, their direction could be diagonal, with a 15 degrees increase/decrease for each row of maps toward positive/negative Y, having random directions only in starting map, so that looking at them players could desume the map they are in.

And yes, I know there is the general map to show us where we are, as well as /pos command, but looking at birds to know where I am sounds poetical to me

They are also a screen saver to prevent a burned image on a unmoved background.

This is not true.
The birds stand still, only the ground moves from right to left.

I even see birds flying around in dungeons, which is strange, too, unless there is a type of birds that like indoor flying.

Fun aside, I like your idea, but it is improbable that creator will implement it, because it is only a decoration effect.

I am glad you like it; creator took time to decorate trees with season lights, he might as well decide to transform the monodirectional birds in multidurectional ones, or even from mere decoration effect to orientation tool, at the cost of losing their taste of weirdness

I actually like this too... sure it wouldn't really add to the game a lot, but it'd be fun to just "follow the birds" to the start map (or some other specific map :p ) could even be written into a quest then (kinda a riddle)
