Question

Post by Nilez »

If I'm tanking about 10-15 monsters to help my low lvl friend lvl up, and someone at a higher lvl than my friend shows up and starts attacking what I'm tanking, and I politely ask them not to, but they continue to do so. If I walk away, letting them get attacked by what they're attacking, and maybe die, would it be considered as spawn killing?

So are you saying that, if this happens I won't get banned? You may find it boring, but we find it scary.

Reported? For stating an opinion? Good luck winning that argument

My opinion on the question is No, it is not against the rules in this case, if he/she is bringing more mobs to you, or if he shares the spawn. But, that is not a reason to do it purposefully, which is against the rules. ;)

My apologies in that case. I wouldn't have thought it's spawn killing as you were there first, you've asked the guy to stop and he's ignored you. My interpretation of spawn killing would be the opposite scenario where you deliberately lead the spawn onto a player.

This would not be spawn killing, as the player chose to be in the spawn. Likewise, if tanking for a low lvl player and you lag or logout, it is not spawn killing. Spawn killing is bringing unwanted spawn onto a player. If a player chooses to be in the spawn, they run the risk of dying.

Agreed. I know many recklessly throw out accusations of "spawn killing" or "pet killing" when in fact the above scenario has actually happened. I have a SERIOUS dislike for players who cry wolf and try to muddy the waters and confuse the GM's and other players when in fact spawn killing or pet killing hasn't happened. I due reserve harsh judgement for legitimate spawn or pet killers however.

Thank you to all your replies. Just wanted to not take a chance on getting banned, as far as I can help it.

This is someone attempting to spawn kill. There are no huntress that spawn close enough to where we are.

They dragged a bunch of huntress over in an attempt to kill players and pets. (was a lot more the first wave this is actually wave #2)

Luckily I was there to block and defend my clan from it but this is what we're talking about.

If you're grinding and someone comes up to try and steal/leech your spawn, it's their fault if they die bc you decided to log out bc you didn't want to tank for them.

That's my PoV on it anyway.
