Houses make minimap confusing

Post by MadMikael »

I did some questing the other day, on maps I was not too familiar with.
A common feature in the past, was to look for white dots on the map to find npcs if/when they appear, as well as clicking buildings for possible entrance.
Sadly, on some maps, this was not really an option.
So many houses give white dots on the map.
Could houses not make dots on the map? Or have a different colour maybe?
Really, the house location is only important to the house owner anyway... I don't think they need it.
It's really discouraging to have to click at every white dot to see if it's a dungeon/shop entrance, and to see it's just another house.
Don't get me wrong, I like that players are supporting the game.
But, as this feature increases in popularity, it makes the game a little less playable IMO.
(similar to names all being publicly displayed; it was nice at first, but in some areas, it was too much)

I've always thought that the minimap could show more and/or better info. I've made suggestions to that affect. Anyone who's interested can search for them.

I think white dot for house cause more mess than the name on it that was eliminated . Frankly, i preferred names
Sword dislike sieging - hungrywolf
Dwarf dislike mining - tarvos
Archer dislike crafting - matcauthon
Ogre dislike fishing - heimdall
Mage dislike magic - ogonbat

If the white dots of houses could be removed, and the houses owners names could back, it will be greatly good, on my opinion, because it happened with me 1st time I played this game, but now I am good in knowing them if houses or NPCs.
thanks in advance.

Well, it seems many miss the player names on houses.
Perhaps, that could be added as a toggled option in the settings menu?
I'd say, default to off, but that's no biggie.
If you want to see the names, you could.
If that's doable, I'd say, "sure, why not"?

an house with name is like a skin, everybody likes to feel unique or at least part of something, is human nature :)
