Game Rules - jr GM rights?

Post by toosh »

Hi Guys,

i am wonder, rule 0 in game rules says:
Rule 0.
The rules are enforced by our staff team. Always listen to the GameMasters (blue or gold named, clan GM), they are in charge!
Read this rule (click "Show") -->: Hide
It is required that when a GM addresses you, you respond, even if only to say, "I do not understand". We do understand language barriers, and will make an attempt to overcome them. However, even if you do not understand their warnings, you may still be punished for rule violations. It is players responsibility, to know the rules and follow them.
It is forbidden to exploit any bug, glitch, or game mechanic from which xp, gold, gear, or any other form of value is too easily gained. Punishment will generally include the loss of everything gained from abusing the exploit, plus whatever additional punishment is deemed fair by the GM team on a case-by-case basis.
It is also forbidden to impersonate a GM. Punishments can be harsh, depending on the case.
There is no info about jr GM rights. Please update this point about jr GM rights, because they are in GM clan but they are not blue or gold named, thats mean 0 point of game rules dont work with them. Players should know who they are and what their rights and duties are. And for the new jr GM Akkilles, I suggest you read&learn the rules because it misleads the players when u says that u have rights for something, but it isnt true.

Thx, and good luck guys:)

I am not aware what happened in this particular case (and have no desire to find out!), but agree with the overall point that jrGM responsibilities should be clearly described in the game rules. Players will then have a point of reference if required.

Hi :)

I'm glad you took your time to post your opinions here.
Yes I agree if we could change rule 0 to be 100% understandable (maybe explain the rights of a "JrGM in GM clan") and yes I'm a GM in "training" so forgive me if I need to learn more ;)
I'm doing my job as a normal GM to ensure the game rules , but I'm still in training.

IMO I don't see any problem (while online in the game) because it's also mentioned in the game rules that players must not impressionate any GM's and I'm not doing it either , when I told you that I am a JrGM to say "hi" in the game I was only doing what I'm suppose to do.

Have a nice day :)

"Rights" of a GM? Don't know what you mean exactly...

However.
As for what "GMs are supposed to do", the public version is here

Now, what does that say?
They're training to be full GMs....
So, ok, by definition, they are not a "full GM"..
But, if you have a problem with one, you may as well have a problem with a "full GM", as the trainee will report everything back anyway...

I don't know what your current issue is with the current junior GM (nor do I care, tbh)
But, unless your fault with him is something you'd have a fault with a regular GM about, you likely won't go far.

Anyway, if you have issues with a GM (even a trainee one), the proper procedure is to contact an admin about it via private message (they have green names on the forum, and they're who you contact if you have an issue with ANY GM)
So, I suggest you try that route... posting here won't likely get much of the attention that you are actually seeking (instead, you'll get comments from other players).
Good luck.
You called me strong, you called me weak
But still your secrets I will keep
You took for granted all the times I
Never let you down
You stumbled in and bumped your head, if
Not for me then you'd be dead
I picked you up and put you back
On solid ground

It's a total of nothing to occupy GM or GA time. I was just wondering what rights jrGM has( rights=power in law) Today I met jrGm who checked if I am afk or not. What for me was the essence of the question is if I must have to answer jrGM if he isnt GM. Can I treat him like an ordinary player? According to my opinion and regulations: I can ignore him, according to jrGM, i must answer. I wonder how it is ... that's why I put the subject in Off Topic.

Hmm... you could ignore him, yes...
And sure, the way you write it, ok, maybe you would not be breaking a rule exactly.
But think about it.

Junior GM teleports in to check if I'm afk.
I want to mess with him or something, so I pretend to be.
After multiple attempts at contact, he will conclude I probably am.
So now what?

Well, he'll likely report to the other GMs; maybe, one will come to help out. If that happens, great...
(Yet, if they show, and I start chatting, do you think it will make them happy to have used their time in such a way?)
So, if that happens, I could keep playing (bad idea), or fess up (not a great idea, but a better one).

So, what if the junior doesn't get a GM?
Well, he'll have to make a decision.
There is a good chance, he'll send me to jail.
Now, that usually gets an answer from most players... going to jail... it's a good idea to answer at this point... otherwise, you'll be convicted.
So...

What do you gain exactly from NOT answering him?
All I see is wasted time on all parts, and maybe a punishment on the one who ignores (if they're stubborn).
At best, you could get off with a warning on the "loophole" you mention, but don't count on it.

Officially, a junior is a trainee. Ignore them at your own risk.

If you're just stating a "what if" scenario with new players... well, that's the junior's part to step up and explain to the new player what GM are.
It's not a huge deal IMO. Juniors do not always make blue named - it's a fact.
If you're talking about someone who has played for some time, and is just looking to stir stuff up... they won't get far. They should know better.

As for what powers a junior actually has, he has the most basic ones.
That means nothing though.
Any GM can accomplish any GM task; it just takes longer if they don't have the specific power for it.
There are several procedures to help with this sort of thing.

Anyhow, I think I answered most of your questions (I hope).
Again, if you have issue with a junior (or, even the game rules, for that matter), you should contact an admin via private message. They handle both those areas. Good luck again.

Thx a lot Mad, you spread it to the first part :) Generally, I am allergic to saying "hello" to me if someone truely wanna check my presence, but it's a topic for different conversation. Thanks for help!
