PvP Opinion

Post by Humble_M »

I'll state for the record: I'm not a fan of PvP in any way, shape, or form. I know a lot of people enjoy that play dynamic, I'm just not one of them.

I think it is wrong for this game, or any game, to force people to take part in a play style which they have no interest. FT has a lot to offer beyond PvP: problem solving skills, time management, friendship building. Not one of those requires PvP. There are enough posts which detail changes to the PvP system, which benefit those who do like and those who don't. I can only hope that compbatant listens and implements a solution that everyone can enjoy.

Yes, I'm also irate because a specific player (no need to name) consistently targets me. This player's class and my class are not relevant.

I love PvP :D removing PvP would remove me.

We have PvP protection if your afraid of being PKed but I think PvP adds some excitement and thrill

Not one word of my statement said "remove PvP". As for PvP protection, there are other posts which detail the pros and cons. I'm not going to debate them again.

I think PvP is balanced enough. A level 220 swordman can easily defeat my 320 archer

I'm on board with the original post, as I've said and alluded to before.

As far as forcing someone to take part in PvP against their will it can also happen to an extent without actual PvP. A number of weeks ago I was grinding reds without pets for some reason when some random player dragged a swarm on me. No worries, I could take on the eight that surrounded me, but then when I killed one he parked a siege in the open spot. As has been discussed multiple times (sorry, I know it's a loaded topic and might drag your OP off topic) I start targeting sieges even though I've never been in a clan or initiated PvP and this player was three times my level. I could've stayed and died or I suppose try to target specific mobs to try and get out, but why in the world should I be forced into that?

I know, that's more of a player being a *cough* than actual PvP, but similar in reasoning on getting forced into something agains your will.

If someone attacks you, just log off  that's a common trick.

Again, the PvP dynamic is established by your statement: why should I alter my play in any way?

There is also the Offline Game if the PvP is making you miserable.
