Speed of Traffic
Is it my imagination, or do the run-of-the-mill blue worms move faster as their HP drops?

Re: Speed of Traffic
I think it's just your imagination, but that would make an interesting ability for future monsters (not pets) to speed up based on HP % drop.
Something like:
If (HP<maxHP), then [movespeed×(1+(100-currentHP%))]
That equation isn't perfect, since coding isn't my forte, but the idea is there.

Hmmm... I talked to some friends regarding this idea, and many liked the thought, but suggested other ideas as well... Damage increase, spell/damage resist increase, etc. For that matter, these kind of buffs could (if created) be applied to potions or even gear for players. Many possibilities...

Re: Speed of Traffic
I wouldn't favor anything that involved potions - it would open a huge PvP can of worms (pun intended)!
As a friend just suggested, maybe lower HP + faster speed = improved drop rate %

Re: Speed of Traffic
The general idea is intriguing, and it makes sense when one thinks in terms of a "cornered animal" being more aggressive, or something along those lines.
How would this play out for lower level vs higher level players though? It's one thing for a high level mage to blast waves of mobs or fairies to mow down mobs as they approach, but it's quite another thing for a level three player trying to collect honey pots from bandits without assistance.

Re: Speed of Traffic
maybe have a minimum monster level before this takes place. this way, it affects all players
EDIT:
How about this: monsters above a set level (100 - just example) have a % chance (5? 10?) of a "special" ability when the HP drops below a specified value/%.
for example: worms have 200K HP. if HP < 25K, there's a 5% chance that worm's speed increases from 6 - 8 (again, just example). This is a ONE TIME ability (whether ability is a set or % change)
special abilities may include (again, just examples):
faster movement
% HP recovery (maybe for 2-3 sec, no more)
higher drop rate
increased spell/dmg resistance

Re: Speed of Traffic
Honestly, I wasn't talking about adding this to existing monsters, although that COULD be done. I was referring to new monsters in future updates. As for the buffs to players, either potions (consumables) or gear would have to be used to gain the effects. I'd LOVE to see these effects on gear, especially since spell resist and Hp regen boost already exist on gear.
I would not recommended these as spells for mage, unless used to buff others rather than the mage himself. Either that, or the effect is diminished for the mage himself, while doing more for others. This would give a decent "support" role for mages, without making them OP (compared to current setup).
