What item? What mission?
There are a lot of items and missions in this game.

I'm sorry to say, your item will not be replaced.
As is, you could make an alternate account to just grab the item for you (of course, that account won't be able to finish the quest).
Having a friend tag along to shield you could help.

It seems, you decided to throw away a valuable quest item in favour of pack space for potions.
Players who throw away unique items expecting replacement are becoming too common; while accidental loss is one thing, deliberate loss is another.
For this reason, we're not replacing many unique items; only accidental losses are considered.

Even if you did not have the quest, the item in itself is clearly unusual and unique, and worth hanging on to.

As for the game side of things, we're going to look into making that chest as locked until you get the quest for it.
It's an old quest, so I'm unsure if it's entirely possible - but with the newer code available, maybe.

I hope, in the future, if you find a weird item, you'll ask around about it (in game and/or on forum) before you throw it away.
