Running on Windows 10

Post by justj99 »

I'm having some trouble running FT on Windows 10. I got java installed and gave it access through the firewall, right clicked the .bat and .jar files to make sure they are unblocked. If I run start.bat from the command prompt, FT version 8.6.0 starts, but then it just hangs with a black window after the music briefly starts. I'm not sure what else to do at this point. Am I missing a step or is there a problem with my particular machine? Thanks for any advice.

I have the same problem. Black screen.
It's not Windows 10's fault, it's your graphics card that doesn't support game GL.

Combtant will be more accurate than me, but if you have a built-in card, maybe that's not good.

Do you see menu and black screen is when you click login or you have black screen from beginning?
If you run the game on laptop then you probably have 2 graphics cards, one is built in processor and second one is much better.
You need to switch to the second one.

Black screen from beginning. Music starts for about 1 second and stops. The laptop only has a integrated graphics card, but I think it's supposed to support OpenGL.
