The captain of a Japanese fishing boat has had his hat stolen. He knows one of his four crew mates has stolen it, either the flagman, cook, chief fisherman or the mop man.
He asks them what they were doing at the time:
Cook; there was a power cut so i was trying to fix the fridge
Mop man; i was cleaning the fish guts off the deck
Flagman; I was busy rearranging the flag, it was upsidedown!
Fisherman; i was trying to catch a rare fish worth one milkion yen!

One of thems lyeing, the lyer is the thief.
