Still, it is not impossible and here is some advice to quickly level up.
1 - GATHER YOUR PARTY: seek for the instructions on this forum about how to gather your party and try to get the dwarf, the archer, the ogre and the blue knight before proceeding. The blue knight must be the last one to be hired, since he will be the most expensive.
2 - DO QUESTS THAT DO NOT INVOLVE FIGHTING (or do, with affordable foes).
- Bring the wolf fangs to the forester +1 level up.
- Go east to save the Princess: escort her to King waiting near the castle.
- Go east even further, talk tot he wizard near tot he megalith and bring him yellow crystal from megalith, without fighting the trolls.
Find the boy in the same map and bring him 4 mushrooms, while evading the mushroom-like monsters.
3 - HOT SPOTS FOR MONSTERS
Feel free to explore the surrounding areas in the center of the global map among the following steps described here, both to have more fun, both to make more experience, discover shops with better equipment and to raid affordable dungeons.
A - go to map -1/-1, the one where there is the blue knight, and take the first road to the left, that brings you to the pirate ship. Just leave there your party and keep killing pirates, getting their swords to be sold. Very often, your party will attack them immediately and will trigger the creation of new pirates: more you kill, more they come! And very soon they won't be a menace to your party anymore.
B - when you are strong enough, buy plenty of healing potions and move to map 3/0, the one with the pyramid in the center of the screen, surrounded by moats, and place your party right after the merchant with a chariot, who has been assaulted by brigands. Save and move slightly forward until a lone archer will come. Move backward, distant from triggerers that will cause more archers to come in order to isolate the lone archer. Kill him for 9.000 xps and he hopefully will drop one of his bows which may be sold for 31.000 gold pieces. Repeat till you will have equipped your party with the best gear that you may afford.
C - Complete the quest for the two bracelets, that involves killing tough monsters, and get the mage. Once you have the mage, buy the green flow spell in the temple shop nearby to the blue knight's castle, level him up a bit, then move to the 3/1 map, to the Silverwood castle: a guard will ask you for 200 golds to enter.
In that place, move in circle in the glade before the street ad trigger the creation of a swarm of archers: when they are enough, unleash the power of the mage's green flow and kill them in mass. Be careful not to swarm more archers than the ones that your mage can handle. Once you kill them, collect their bows to sell them, but not in the same city since it has terrible buying rates. Go instead in the very first city or where you did accompany the princess.
