Mining for mithril

Please tell me that the only place to mine for mithril isn't the one guarded by those worms in the mines in the bottom maps! My whole pay get slaughtered every time! Also, what is the green moss looking stuff?

The Hobbit says you can mine mithril in the red cyclops dungeon also

under Silverwood castle... need a key (and level 50) to get to bottom level

Yes. Btw its not good in RPG. Players start this quest and cant finish till 75...
