Is an open source version of the map editor available? I run a FreeBSD and do notnwish to use wine to run the .exe

yes, you can simply download the zip on forum and open it in linux, for example.

It is written in java so you can run it on FreeBSD

It is written in java so you can run it on FreeBSDI personally don't use windows too, I use Linux.

If the editor is written in java then ubuntu/lubuntu can open it. FreeBSD is a free unix like OS if i remember rightly.
