ROLEPLAY: The role of rearrow
Since i am getting worried comments from several players about my health and state of mind I will write a bit on how I play rearrow in FT.
First of all. FT is a role playing game and I play a role. I started playing Robin Hood on the street at 7 years old, was one of the first to play D&D type paper games, played rpgs by mail (one turn a week lol) and have been a computer gamer since pc was invented.
Role playing is my thing and archer has always been my class in 40 years of gaming.
Role playing extends outside the app, for me the forum is as much the game of FT as the app is.
Especially if u have a weak class in the app. As they say “the pen is mightier than the sword”
(I only wish it was mightier then a green flow spell with slow too)
If i’ m completely not playing a role i sign with my real name or send a pm. A lot of things I say are more nuanced in the pm i send to GM team.
THE ROLES OF REARROW:
1) Duke of raw, strategist and voice of raw
2) Self appointed voice of archer class
Someone had to take over from Doom. Its easier when u not muted btw.
3) Forum fighter
I will use the forum to help in above roles
4) Critic of big level buyers and the other use of large amounts of real money in game.
Your skill and chance should determine success not, money. many sports are impossible for the poor, they cant afford the equipment. mmorpgs are a relatively cheap ways to socialize and play with others. rich bullies should not be able to ruin the experience of others. luckily most buyers dont. but the point is it should not be possible.
5) Critic of all I think imbalances the classes.
None should be more equal then others.
6) Critical and sometimes impatient check on GM team and how FT develops further.
I respect GM team very much. I also believe that they need a lot of players input. most players seem to have given up however. the suggestions section is active but most critisism on he game is from only a few. It was very different in the past.
I am very happy that people like Eclipse and Moonraker do respond to my comments, its not important to agree. just to let your voice be heard so GM team gets a balanced idea of player wishes.
7) Journalist, Pulling information out f GM team
I pride myself on the fact that as a result of my posts GM admins have released quiet a lot of information on what is happening and will happen. I know they prefer PMs but in my opinion letting these things know to the community is very important. I can however understand that this has not their priority. My stronger worded posts are often thoughtfully answered.
I Never for a second doubt the dedication and integrity of the GM team, but getting them a bit angry is a way to get information out of them. They know this about me and I know they might not like it but do respect it.
8) Friend of enemies
Many of the above roles put me at opposite sites of mages or clans.
It may surprise some that i actually consider most high lvl mages my friends, and they do me. This is the case with mages and non-mages alike in both allied clans and enemy clans. Items are sold at discounts or given free, even between enemies. Characters can be at war, but the players can still be friends. Roleplay again.
Signed,
Rene

Your very welcome.
And yes the tone is a bit harsh sometimes. unfortunataly somertimes my chosen roles clash.
The Voice of Archers is Angry, the critic of FT development more reasoanable. In my PMs I try to be the last.
On forum I do both. although I try to nuance things in later posts often.
For me the forum is many things:
A discussion forum on FT and how it should be, a roleplaying tool, a propaganda tool, a help tool, and many more.

I bet it's gonna cause lots of drama when mages gets their nerfs, especially from those players who only rely on their mage.

Its been said everywhere, ya kinda need buffs for everyone else. Nerfs lead to more nerfs. At times nerf chains have actually killed off a game. If you make everyone as equally OP (as possible) to everyone else. Suddenly no ones OP.

Re: ROLEPLAY: The role of rearrow
You are probably right.blitzcraig wrote:I can guarantee one thing: whatever changes are made will lead to compbatant and all the GMs being cussed out for ruining the game :p
Still, most who cuss and complain are probably either
-playing a role, defending a certain.class or clan 'no matter what'. forum.is the battlefield as is the app.
-mad at that moment but more reasonable later
The few who get realy mad may leave but most stay and enjoy the pvp, gindung, clanstuff and forumfighting.
The fact that the 'complainers' are not afraid the 'all powerfull GM' will get mad and punish them is kind of a big compliment to the GM team.
Almost all players who have been around for a while have great confidence in GMs dedication.to ft and their objectivity. (even if they dont seem to in a certain role). The selection process for new GMs seems to work very well in my opinion.
Ayear ago the biggest problem.in FT was people getting bored. New maps, quests, items AND THE CHANGES have solved this problem .
A 'bad' change , can be made a 'challenge'. later it may prove to be 'an opportunity' or even a ' disguised good change'. trying to figure this out can be fun as can be the Forumfighting which often will be started quickly after the change.
So do the changes u are think are best, using input from as many players as are willing to comment.
dont be afraid of adverse reactions.
If most want powerfullmages and weak archers, i will still have fun playing the underdog, using almost all tactics, forum,fb, etc to further his cause.
If archers become dominant I enjoy it for a while, then u will see a mage on forum starting to defend the downtrodden mages causes. (yes I do have mages).
You are doing agreat job.do continue.
