I think it took me 3 attempts. I parked my pets at home 1st.

Edit: without giving too much away, it's most definitely not like fighting a regular monster. It's more of a role playing experience. I will say this: you will not succeed at your first attempt.

OK, I'm in the process of completing the various tasks to weaken Bal Muen. A thought occurred: once weakened, do I only get one shot to kill Bal Muen? If I fail, do I need to gather the materials to weaken him again or does he stay in the weakened condition indefinitely?
i believe if he kills u just go back and fight him again

i cannot see u having to gather materials to weaken him again
