Fairy, I agree...we almost had a self heal spell added in the 4.0 update, but I think I didn't push quite hard enough for it LoL ... so that's my fault. Anyway, I'm pretty sure we'll have it soon. As for the scrolls, I get what you're saying (and had asked for the same thing at one point) but now I kinda like it the way it is...it sorta makes the mage able to carry less than others which is a small nerf, and makes sense

Rapmd, I agree with a str requirement on heavy armor, that's a really neat thought. As for the dex requirement on staff, I disagree... anybody can pick up a staff, whether or not they hit somebody with it depends on dex/str IMO. And single stat characters don't work well enough to guard against people building them (with possible w exception of SUPER high level, all mana mage...but he doesn't need gear anyway ;) )

Asmodius, thank you for your input... there's more there than I have time to reply to right now ;)

Yes anyone can pick up a staff, but not anyone can use it properly. My point is that all equipement should be based on real physics based upon what the equipement is made of. Anyone who has tried any form of martial arts understands this.

I respectfully disagree, particularly with mages and archers. Most people I've talked to in the game suggest by default building mono-stat characters. I would also recommend exploring the idea of intellengence as an attribute for concentration/aiming in a future release.

IMHO, real world physics should force players to make tough choices by requiring careful thought about their goals for their character.

If your trying to put real word physics or anything like that into an android based game with magical objects, characters and even the odd demon running around imo your doing it wrong.

Its a game first and foremost, here to be played and not ruined by this thing called "real life anythings". Why not go the other rouye about this all. Put requirements on all the gear. Dex str mana. If ypu meet the requiremenys you can wear the armor. Ill rdit thispost later

I get what you're saying about real world physics, but I'm saying that without dex, you will not hit anything with the staff anyway (ditto for other gear) ... I'm interested that you're pushing the single-stat character. I've done a ridiculous amount of testing and math for FT (especially given how simple the system is) and never found any good coming from this... would you mind giving specifics here (if you'd prefer to keep it private I understand... don't wanna go around telling everybody your stats LoL)

I'm not pushing mono-stat character and apologize if it seems that way, actually quite the opposite. But I have tested a mono-stat mage and now a mono-stat swordsman with very good success. My mage was lvl 60 and my swordsman is lvl 32. I don't mind putting my stats here as there should be some randomidity in the attack math anyway.

I don't mind giving stats at all.I personally belive they should be available publicly in the player info pop-up anyways, but that another discussion (LOL).

These stats are the character only. I've removed all gear to get these numbers.

Level 62 mage with all skill points put on mana:

Mana: 126
Str: 1
Arm: 1
Dex: 4
HP: 1288

Level 34 swordsman with all skill points put on Str:

Str: 68
Arm: 2
Dex: 4
HP: 2019

IMHO, I believe the archers are the most out of balance for the following reasons:

1. All points put on DEX makes that extremely difficult to hit.
2. All points on DEX give them a very powerful attack,
3. They are a ranged character that can wear all the heavy armor of a melee character, making them even harder to hit.
4. Unlimited arrows, unlimited attack. Even the mage has to recharge their mana.

This is why I strongly believe that real world physics can be applied to all gear in the form of minimum requirements, without turning the game into a science disertation, will be a major step in forcing characters to be better balanced,.

I agree with most of what you said here (and you're welcome to write about mono stat characters too asmodeus ; ) ... but the simple fact is trade 5 points from str to dex on that swordsman, and you'd win PvP against mono stat 1000 times out of 1000.... as for dex, I've written several times about broadening the "window" because it's MUCH too narrow even at medium levels... Anyway, I still don't quite get what you mean that the gear requiremeNts would solve the problems of balance, could you please explain that again? I think I'm missing something ;)

I still wouldnt do real world physics. Itd require a ton of add X movement speed here for x stat and minus x movement speed for x gear. Probably a few other things youd add in. If you did this youd also have to do weight. If you do weight you might aswell give x inventory slots for x str. Sure itd force people to build around this but in the end itd cause more hassle than its worth.

Both in coding and in player complaints. How applying minimum stats required to wear it would change things? If that was the question? Youd have a level requirement. A strength requirement a mana requirement an arm requirement and a dex requirement. You could then even put out spec gear. Not all archers could use that epic dex plate because they have too much str. Not all archers could use that uber damage plate because they dont meet the str requirement. Same for frank the tanks defence plate. Not enough arm.

Depending on what the item is you could even begin mixing up the stats on new items and make universal melee weapons. Some giving bonuses if weilded by the right class.

The same with armor. You could make this a bit more universal and limited at the same time. If you wanted to build a heavily armored mage who uses some ungodly arm/dex/def plate Go for it. You wont be as good at slinging spells but you might pwn other mages simply because you chose to take a dex plate or whatever.

You could be that ungodly strong melee character. Sure you dont hit as often as youd like but if you do hit they know franks come through in his abrams and not only hit you but rolled you.

These are just thoughts. Ive seen some weird stuff on games thatve done this and some pretty interesting concepts that makr no sense in theory but just... somehow... work, lol.
